The Leonhardt team has been working in Pennsylvania and the Pittsburgh area since the 1980s when two of their research collaborators with Dr. Race Kao and Dr. George Magovern at Allegheny General Hospital in 1988 made history by completing the first muscle stem cell regeneration of damaged hearts. In the 1990s they worked with many Pennsylvania based collaborators in developing the first intravascular lung catheter, the first percutaneous heart valve, one of the first biological pacemakers and the leading endovascular stent graft system for repairing aortic aneurysms without surgery. In 2001 the Leonhardt team made history again by completing the first ever non-surgical stem cell repair of a human heart. No other group has worked longer and harder to perfect organ regeneration methods, compositions and devices. This experienced team is now applying all that accumulated experience into a platform organ regeneration and recovery technology base and is creating startups with specific organ application focus. We in-license IP complimentary to our own, often times from Universities, and we merge into our existing startups or create partnership agreements with other firms, often also startups, where they may help us improve or advance our technology platform further for a specific organ focused application. We are constantly seeking out IP, talent, research collaborators and startups that can advance our portfolio of startups and innovations forward.
